First Day of School

Today is the first day of school for students in my school district. It is--and has been every year since I've taken this job--an INSANE day! People wait until the start of school to try to use their technology and then contact me this morning and want me to fix their problem FIRST! I spend a lot of time explaining to people why they're not FIRST on my list.

I'm on lunch now, and a little frazzled. Since the start of school I've taken care of a broken security system at the high school, networking new construction at one of the elementary schools, setup five teacher workstations, fixed a principal's computer, created a major query linking 4 separate databases, and taken 39 calls on my cell phone and work phone. And to think I'm only halfway through the day!

So what am I doing writing this instead of getting out there and getting the job done? I don't know. Just needed a small 5 minute break so that I don't go crazy. My phone is ringing, though, so I gotta go...

...Truth be told, I live for this kind of day! :)
