As I said, Meredith has been counting down the days basically for years and in earnest for the last month or so. She's been so excited the last few days that I thought she might have some kind of seizure. I don't think she was even able to enjoy this last weekend because she was looking forward so much to the trip.
Lisa, on the other hand...well, that's a different story. Initially (and by initially I mean two years ago) Lisa was very excited about the trip, and I remember a couple of years ago when Meredith asked if Lisa was going to chaperone the trip Lisa replying, "Meredith, nothing could keep me away from you if you're going to be in D.C." But now the reality of spending 12 hours on a chartered bus with 75 screaming 6th graders has started to hit Lisa, and I think she's at least dreading the bus rides if not the rest of the trip. She's pretty sure she'll be exhausted when she gets back Friday.
So that leaves Natalie and myself at home. I guess we'll just spend some quality time together, eat whatever we want, and do whatever we want. It won't be anything as exciting as Mount Vernon or the White House, but I'm looking forward to it.
Hopefully I'll have some photos of the trip to post in a week or so.
