It's a cover of a song called "Hey Ya" which was originally done by a hip hop band called Outkast. I really didn't have an opinion one way or other about the original song, but this version is fantastic! It completely changes the feel of the song. I'd actually never listened to the lyrics of the song before--I'd just thought of it as a funky dance song. But the lyrics (at least the first 1/2 of the song) are really a painful lamet about a relationship that's falling apart, and this new version matches the words with the music.

P.S. Here's the original if you don't know it and you're curious. And by the way, I actually have a new respect for the original song as a result of hearing the new version. 'Cause when I go back and look at the lyrics I see what a subversive song it really is. The song, as I mentioned above, begins with this painful lament (though it sounds like a typical dance song), but then the singer sings "Ya'll don't want me here. You just want to dance," and then it turns into a traditional dance song at that point. It's very clever.
