Photos of the (Almost) Hurricane

Thought I would include some photos of the recent storm. In this photo you can see the leaves and branches blown down in between Buildings Two and Three of the Museum. You can also see that one of the window screens was blown out of Building Two (it's on the ground below it). The building in the back of the photo (Building Four) was struck by a tree that was bent in half by a huge wind gust. It's hard to see in that photo but you can see it in the photo below. The tree is hanging down to the left of the building. If you squint you can just make out the bent up gutter on the left edge of the building.

I don't think anything fell and hit this gutter. At least I couldn't find any fallen limbs that would account for the damage. I think the winds just got ahold of it and ripped the nails out of the roof line. It's currently hanging by a single roofing nail.

We had to throw out a number of the flowers in the yard as they looked like this. The stalks were broken and I don't think they were ever going to look again like they'd looked before. It's pretty clear from this photo which direction the wind was blowing in, isn't it?
As I've said in previous posts, though, it's hard to get too upset by the damage. All in all it was pretty light. There are people within walking distance of our house who had a LOT more damage than this.
In addition to the photos above, I also created a PhotoSynth of the damage, but it's not even as good as my first attempt (In fairness to Microsoft, they want you to take literally 100's of pictures, and I'm not willing to do that). If you installed the software last time, you can view it here:
