Whenever someone begins a sentence with the phrase
"I'm not a racist, but..."
you can be pretty sure of two things:
1) The person is a racist.
2) Whatever comes after the phrase is going to be a racist statement.
With that in mind, here is a bonus piece of advice: If you ever find yourself tempted to begin a sentence with that phrase, don't, and don't say whatever you were getting ready to say afterward.

Great advice, without the preamble people still say stupid things. I just wonder about people named "Whitey" and as a kid my favorite radio show was "Boston Blackie" Alas probably not PC now. I play golf with Whitey and he is 84 so he will go away some time I'm sure. Boston Blackie went away a long time ago.

Thanks for the link. I'd agree that BOSTON BLACKIE is not pc today and there will probably NOT be a TV series based on the book any time soon.
I've never thought of the name "Whitey" as non-pc, though. I always thought it either a comment on the person's hair color or last name of White. I guess it may become non-pc as well, though.
