Two days ago I shared with you a dumb sign I discovered last Saturday at the library. Here's one I noticed a few days ago when I was getting onto an elevator. As I was waiting for the elevator door to open, I noticed this sign on a lockbox beside the elevator:

As I waited for the elevator, the following questions popped into my head:
1) Was this a problem to start with? Before they put the sign on the lockbox, were others trying to get into it? Because I have to tell you, if I saw the lockbox there beside the elevator and it DIDN'T have the sign on it, I wouldn't have assumed that it was there for just anybody to use.
2) If there WERE other people trying to get into it, does it even matter? Other than the maintenance company, does anyone else have a key to this lockbox anyway? Of course not. If people want to try to use their house keys or their car keys to get into the lockbox, let 'em try. Their key's not going to work. Who cares?
These are the kinds of things I think about when I have 60 seconds of down time...
